Architecting a custom content management system for Yorkshire college

With origins tracing back as far as 1873, Harrogate College has delivered further and higher education to hundreds of thousands of students. Under the stewardship of Luminate Education Group, the organisation serves 3,000+ students per year from their North Yorkshire campus.

Project Brief

Following an internal design phase, we were approached and approved to rebuild the Harrogate College website to better structure the information hierarchy and deliver a custom content management system for better flexibility and extensibility in the frontend and backend.

The Result

Through a four month engagement, we rebuilt the entire WordPress website, producing a component-based content management system and themeable frontend that expanded upon the shared design system. Training for IT graduates and documentation for staff was also delivered to ensure a maintainable solution for students and staff.
