Revitalised Shopify App Delivering Business-Critical Infrastructure to Thousands of Storefronts

Launched as Digital Downloads, since renamed to Fileflare, the Massive Monkey founding team achieved great success in helping businesses facilitate digital product distribution during Covid lockdown restrictions, quickly reaching thousands of customers as a leading Shopify App.

Project Brief

A victim of success, the application suffered many scaling problems beyond the capacity of the technical cofounder. Craft Applied was entrusted to coordinate and augment a new team to help stabilise the infrastructure and application layer. We later contributed extensive UI/UX design work toward Built for Shopify certification for the app.

The Result

Despite a challenging handover, the team successfully stabilised the app, correcting many core issues without data loss. Customer complaints turned into compliments, with a significant decrease in support ticket volume and severity. With a stable foundation, work could begin on enhancing the product with new features and an improved Shopify Polaris user interface.
