While the technology — and specifically the internet — is generally accepted as a great enabler, it can come at great cost. With an estimated $1.5 trillion annual revenue for cyber-criminals, Intelect recognise the importance to educate, equip and empower businesses of all scales in fighting the constant and growing threat.

Understanding the opportunity and ongoing demand for cyber-security services worldwide, Craft Applied agreed to engage with a full spectrum of digital services that would extend the business’ outreach and value offering.

We spent the discovery portion of the engagement observing the business in its existing guise. By attending conferences, reading materials and undertaking complementary security audits, we gathered first-hand experience of how the business operated and delivered value to patrons.

Refreshed Identity

While the business started in a sole trader capacity, Intelect rapidly scaled with the increased demand for cyber-security services. The proprietor Colin Tansley recognised the need for high quality and respectable branding and online persona to better represent the business’ growing network of cyber-security professionals.

Assuming a high-risk environment for always-online modern businesses, we decided to leverage this emotional subtext with high-impact tones that suggested urgency and action. The counter-point being the cool-and-collected business professionals to represent the Intelect Professional Network.

With the direction warmly received by the client, we proceeded to deliver a range of printed and digital assets, including course materials, promotional booklets, form templates and event banners.

WordPress Rebuild

An under-optimised website was causing bottle-necks in the business workflow and required a complete overhaul. With a grasp of the target audience and business objectives, we began orchestrating our custom WordPress theme.

It was most important that the website offer many more opportunities for user engagement via properly-structured service offerings. To accommodate an expanded outreach and commercial offering, it was important to audit and revise site-wide information hierarchy. Conducting this exercise early on encouraged a logically organised and better sign-posted user experience.

From here, we could structure layers of functionality to compliment and enhance the core information delivery.

Enhanced Functionality

Adopting an agile methodology, we collaborated closely with the client to rapidly design, prototype, integrate and deploy functionality for staff profiles, document downloads, e-commerce product sales, event reservation and ticket sales. We leveraged popular WordPress plugins including WooCommerce, Advanced Custom Fields Pro, and Block Lab.

We respected the importance of ensuring all functionality remained optimised for both desktop and mobile devices, whilst retaining healthy support for legacy browsers.

This rapid evolution to Intelect’s online offering has empowered the company to manage a sizeable portion of their lead generation, client engagement and commercial sales workflows from a single, easy-to-use content management system that can be accessed worldwide at any time of the day.
